Family Celebration - Developmental Disabilities Awareness & World Down Syndrome Day

Saturday, March 16, 2024
12:00 pm2:00 pm

We hope you join us to celebrate Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month (the month of March) and World Down Syndrome Day!

We will provide pizza and dessert as we celebrate our friends and family with developmental disabilities. You can bowl if you want to - only $7 per person. There is also an arcade for those who wish to play games.

The picture you see above is of chromosomes.
The one circled is chromosome 21 – note the three copies of the chromosome. This is Trisomy 21 also known as Down syndrome. Most people have just two copies of Chromosome 21. People with Down syndrome have 3 copies.
They look like socks, right? This is where the idea of Rock your Socks for World Down Syndrome Day was born!

On March 21st, World Down Syndrome Day, we celebrate and raise awareness by wearing our brightest, loudest socks.
And why is WDSD held on March 21st?
21:3 (chromosome 21, 3 copies = 21st day of 3rd month of the year)

Please RSVP above (blue button). Hope to see you there!
