Medicare Advantage Special Needs Plans are available to clients who are eligible for Medicare and Medicaid (dual eligible). Special Needs Plans provide additional benefits to clients beyond what traditional Medicare and Medicaid provide including, but not limited to, care coordination, gym memberships, transportation to medical appointments and meal delivery.

In Washington State, Medicaid is called Apple Health. Apple Health provides preventative care and many other health care services. Check to see if you are eligible.

Children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities receive a variety of specialty care to address their disability-related health needs. It is important for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to receive regular preventative health checkups and screenings.

The Premium Payment Program may provide reimbursement for private health insurance coverage for those receiving Apple Health (Medicaid). See if you qualify to receive reimbursement for private health insurance coverage such as through an employer or private policy.

If you have a rare condition, require specialized medical treatment or surgery, have a difficult to diagnose condition, or have a child with a rare or serious illness, you may need to travel a long distance to a center of excellence facility.
While the cost of the treatment is often covered by the health insurance, the cost of travel rarely is. The cost of travel is a barrier for many people in getting the healthcare they need for themselves or their children. If the cost of transportation is a challenge for you, Angel Flight may be able to help you by arranging free medical flights.

BHA contracts with Behavioral Health Organizations to administer community mental health programs for Medicaid-eligible persons.

CSTC is the only state-operated and funded psychiatric hospital for children and youth who have psychological and safety needs that cannot be met in their community.

Functional Behavior Solutions, under the direction of Jill Saxon, PhD, BCBA-D, provides behavioral coaching, consultation, and ABA services to families and schools. Our focus is on children with autism, feeding challenges, behavioral challenges, ADHD, and anxiety symptoms. Beyond targeting individual behaviors, we work with families to improve the skills and overall quality of life of their child. We do this through pragmatic, evidence-based treatment and consultation based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, infusing traditional behavior analysis with Acceptance and Commitment Training to build connections and improve outcomes.
