I grew up in Venezuela and moved to the United states in 1991 when I was 14 years old. I speak Spanish and English. My husband and I have 9 children; 3 adult children and 6 that live at home. I'm a stay-at-home mom full time. We have lived in Walla Walla for 12 years now and we love it here. Our number 8 child, Gavin was born with Down Syndrome. We didn't know about his diagnosis until birth, so it was a big shock for us and our family. Soon after his birth I was introduced to the Walla Walla Valley Disability Network. They have helped me navigate through raising a child with a disability and continue to help me every step of the way. They have helped me find resources, training and connect with other families. I am honored to be on the board of directors for this amazing network. I hope to be able to help, support and walk with other families in our community as they experience the joys and hardships of having a child with special needs.
