Board Statement on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion:
At Walla Walla Valley Disability Network (WWVDN), our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is integral to our mission to improve the quality of life for individuals with disabilities and their families throughout their lifespan. We believe that a diverse and inclusive community enriches the lives of all its members.
WWVDN recognizes and embraces differences in race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability status, religion, and socio-economic background. We are dedicated to creating an equitable space where every individual feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives and talents.
Equity is at our core. We strive to provide equal opportunities for all, ensuring that everyone has access to the resources, support, and opportunities they need to succeed. We are committed to identifying and dismantling systemic barriers that prevent equitable participation and representation within our organization and the greater community.
Inclusion is the standard by which we measure our success. We are committed to ensuring all voices are heard, and diverse perspectives are welcomed and respected. We encourage open dialogue and continuous learning to build a community where everyone feels they belong.
We are unwavering in our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, understanding that it is an ongoing journey. Through collaboration, education, and intentional action, we aim to create a more inclusive and just society for all.
