SOAR events are meant for participants with disabilities age 13 and older. Caregivers are welcome if the participant needs more intensive support. If a parent or caregiver stays during a SOAR event, they are considered a SOAR helper and must complete a background check as required by our grant funder. Our hope is that these clubs would be for participants only, as SOAR is meant to further independence and provide opportunities to gain social skills with peers.
Please find us on Facebook as Soar Walla Walla or on Instagram as soar_wallawalla
To complete a helper / volunteer background check, please visit our webpage at https://www.wwvdn.org/how-to-help/volunteer.html
Register for SOAR events: (Registration closes at 6pm on the Sunday before each event)

SOAR Testimonials
"The SOAR (Social Opportunities and Recreation) program... has allowed teen and adult participants with disabilities the opportunity to further their independence, increase social skills, and build relationships" - Bree Renwick, Special Ed Records Secretary
"This population of adults with disabilities often goes unsupported with socialization and fostered independence. SOAR closes that gap in our community." - Jennifer Matson, Lead Behavior Specialist
"Our collaboration with the [SOAR] program... has shown the significant positive impact it has on individuals with disabilities in our community. I was impressed with how organized the program was, how passionate the people involved were, and how much of an impact they are having in the lives of these individuals." - Jim Fry, President (Pacific Little League)
